Five O Driving School offers behind-the-wheel driving lessons in San Luis Obispo serving the Cal Poly State University region.

If you are under the age of 18:

Step 1. REGISTER for the 30-hour online driver education class (must be at least 15).
Step 2. Pass the knowledge test (permit test) and receive your instructional permit (must be at least 15 and a half).
Step 3. Register below for at least 6 hours (per DMV) of behind-the-wheel lessons.
Step 4. Practice driving with a parent/guardian for 50 hours (10 at night).
Step 5. After six months, take the drive test at the DMV.

If you are over the age of 18:

Step 1: Pass the knowledge test (permit test) and receive your instructional permit.
Step 2: Register below for behind-the-wheel lessons and schedule online.
Step 3: Take the DMV drive test when ready.

Central Coast Standard: Four 1.5-Hour Lessons (6 Hours)

Central Coast A La Carte Lesson (1.5 Hours)

Individual lessons are great for students who do not want to pre-pay for all lessons or who would like to add additional lessons to a package for extra practice with an instructor. Please call or email our office to add this to an existing purchase.
